(Hong Kong, 24 January 2005) - General Merchandise Stores ("GMS") operator AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited ("AEON Stores" or the "Group") (Stock code: 984) today announced in "Leading Brands Arrival @ apm" with Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. that it will open a Super Supermarket ("SSM") at apm, the retail flagship mall of Sun Hung Kai Properties, in Kwun Tong.
As a brand new concept store, the JUSCO Supermarket will carry cutting-edge products. Adopting the operative model used in Japan, our new store will be the first supermarket detached from GMS of AEON Stores in Hong Kong. The tentative schedule of opening the SSM is May 2005, and the amount of investment in the store is approximately HK$20 million, financed by internal resources.

With total floor area of about 33,000 sq. ft. on the LG level of apm, JUSCO Supermarket is the largest supermarket in Kwun Tong District. Determined to serve high quality food products and services, the new store will carry a wide range of products imported from Japan. Highlight products tailored for office workers include specialties, such as superior fresh seafood directly imported from Japan, premium cuts of quality meat, a handful of fresh dairy products and enriched assortment of JUSCO private brand -- TOPVALU. There will also be specialty counters showcasing Japanese snacks, bakery goods and desserts.
